that is where my RPs and book fall in, so i do believe that is where i fall most comfortably.
hell, if you want, you can adapt the setting for Zyarc to this. a new one would be fine as well.

Okay, have a basic plot in mind. Can't go too far with a plot though, since the plot is based on the characters. Let's see how much of the world you can figure out with these two characters:
Feryn, Damir1 "Street" Mender HP 2/2 Lv 1 Exp 0/50
Belief: "No one, not even the one who makes others suffer, deserves to suffer." Belief: "One must be strong if they wish to survive, but accepting health is a sign of strength." Goal: "I will show that what I do, my magic, is not as evil as others make it out to be, and will be legally accepted as a healer."
Attributes: Mind 4, Heart 3, Perception 2, Body 1
Traits and Assets: Flesh Mending (spell) 4 Numbing (spell) 4 Blood Control (spell) 2 Hiding 4 Silent Stepping 3 Confidence 3
Pietra, Damir Mercenary HP 3/3 Lv 1 Exp 0/50
Belief: "Women who don't speak their minds are more hopeless than men who do." Belief: "Flesh is not a valid currency and should never be bought or sold." Goal: "I will liberate the slaves and prostitutes of Denaer."
Attributes: Body 4, Mind 3, Perception 2, Heart 1
Traits and Assets: Heavy Armor 4 Longsword 4 Magic Resistance 2 Bloodlust 4 Faster Than Normal 4 Charmer 2
1 Damir are a race I'm working on now. So far, they're just humans with a different culture. Still debating their appearances. Probably pure white skin with red-violet tones, black hair from their heads to tailbones, violet eyes (ranging from white to black in shades of purple, probably), and massive bodies. Or something. Not sure.

lets see, the obvious: you have a cleric and a merc, both in the country of Denaer, where slaves appear to be a sore subject. also, from the looks of things magic is disliked there.
just to let you know, i have Zyarc set up to hold 10 major races, with a place for an unlimited amount of hidden races.
i am working on two characters, which are pointing towards a Dragolich and a Zodor.

Denaer is a major trade city, actually. The closest comparison I can think of is...well, if you've played Dragon Age 2, it's like Kirkwall, except with slavery still common and legal. The city itself has a sort of "specialization" in its slaves (hence the goal including "and prostitutes" for the merc). I have other races I'll consider adding, too, on another site (I'll link it in my sig for convenience. Same place with the Dazh). They're all free to use (we copylefted them on purpose ^_~) and people can even use the classes with the Fantasy tag, too, if they can't think of something. Those classes will have to, of course, have some influence on traits and assets.

I'm looking into it now, but races in general are not copyrighted. for instance, how many rpgs and such have dwarves, elves, dragons, humans, halflings, orcs? thats just to name a few. classes are much the same way.
i still would like to go out of the box. however, the aforementioned races would have to be in hiding if magic is shunned in the setting.

Depends on how you work magic into a campaign, really. Not all of them have magic, after all. I'll try to cover racial politics as best I can when it applies to the setting. The key to making those races fit in is to change them, really.
Sorry, would have had this post out sooner, but got distracted talking to someone.
ADDITION:
Anyway, does that setting sound good to you?

setting sounds pretty good. give me a couple of days for the characters. i'll probably post a thread called "omni-genre CS" in the characters section. which reminds me... why is this thread under galleries?

Showing off the system I created. Wasn't meant to have a conversation or RP setting devised.

Should we leave it open for others to join or not? Because it's perfectly reasonable to leave it open through most of it, I'm sure, as long as the characters have a logical reason to be there and fit in with the setting.
