Should this forum have a forum-wide RP? It would receive its own section, but we'd still have our other section with all the other roleplaying.
And if so, what would you like to see?
Regardless of what your choice, it should be able to incorporate a wide variety of characters. And DIRECT fan-fiction is a no-no, though I'm fine if we can put our own spin on it~!

Anything you'd like to see in it, though?
I have a basic concept, if no one minds. It would allow multiple genres, and it's similar to The Matrix in this particular aspect. There's a real world, that's like...cyber-/biopunk. Like hardcore cyberpunk and biopunk. But there's also another world that's purely digital, but completely realistic. Inside that are AIs that are truly intelligent, and live as avatars in this hidden world. But the hidden world is a fantasy world, where only AIs can have magic, and there are malformed and corrupted AIs that act as the monsters of the world. Each character could play in either/both worlds (AIs through various electronics, with the government giving them android bodies, due to their intelligence). That last part doesn't HAVE to be there...I mean, the AI can opt out of actually USING the body and just live in the other world.
Sure, we'd have to expand on it. I just found it interesting.
I should clarify my reasoning: It's because I have NO idea what to do for the banner, and if we have a single world to follow, then I can also take care of the forum name problem that I attempted a contest to fix a while ago.

why not just do what I have done with open rp's on my forums and do a topic for medieval fantasy, modern fantasy, future fantasy, modern realistic, future realistic and completely open?

Because that's a waste of space for only 3 active members, as I've said MANY times. We have ONE forum for all of them. Besides, that's a horrible way to separate it anyway (though the way it is on one forum works, with "past," "present," and "future." It keeps it nice, clean and simple. Though it's still unnecessary until we have more members...but I'll consider it).
I was asking about a single RP that gets several boards on our forum, as a sort of "Main RP." The other topic is irrelevant to my original questions.
Edit: Fine, I'll add more boards for Past, Present, and Future. I'll keep what we have, too. But I still want feedback on a forum RP.

I just realized something, proboards can have a chatroom setup on your forum, maybe you could set that up for on the fly roleplays.

honestly, for a roleplay of that sort, as in 'forum wide' you would have to go rather large scale, especially if we are to expect growth. it would also have to be able to pull a wide if not infinite range of characters with simple, straight-forward rules that do not constrict to much. it would also have to be configured with a system to regulate or classify NPCs. it would have to be just as effective with a hundred characters as it would 3.

...you're saying stuff I already said. <.< And I've done forum-wide RPs before. Actually got to be mod on one forum that had one, then it was moved and I became admin. I know how to run one, and I know the requirements; it needs a whole world. At the start, it'll just be us, so we can create the base world. As we get more members, they can start refining it. I was giving the most basic idea, so we'd have something for everyone.

So...never got an answer as to my suggestion. Or even to the original question.
