"my word is my honor, and if i do not trust someone, i fight. if i lose, i consider myself in that person's debt, that is your prize. let the battle commence."
Trobilu rushed forward calculatory, watching his opponent closely, aiming for the top of the man's wrists in order to disarm him while not hitting the vein, all the while trying to make sure to dodge and go in under the defenses.

(By doing both called shots (double) and trying to defend, you get a higher attack penalty, you know...That's +2 for the called shot for each attack, the explicit attempt to try to evade, which gives a -2 bonus to defense rolls, gives another +2 to each hit, and another +2 penalty for the difficulty of hitting moving targets, so...+6 for each attack...you sure you want that? Also, he's only using one wrist for that: rapiers are one-handed swords, after all. Won't do much against the other wrist.
Confirmation before I do rolls.)

(if you say so)
Each hit requires 9 or higher. Rolls: 16, 5. First hits, dealing base 12 damage. Vs grafted armor 4 (base 10 - 4 + 1. Roll: 1) fail. Trobilu's dagger passes between armor segments, dealing 12 damage. Ivaylo HP 30/42. Suffers a +2 penalty to regular attacks.
Ivaylo casts burning hands. Chance to hit is 11. Roll 15. Success. Base damage 9 (because of poor wording so no Mind bonus. Next time on, it will get the bonus). Defense 9 pass. Trobilu takes 5 damage. HP 21/26.

Trobilu gets his opponent where he aimed, but suffers a hit from his burning hands. Trobilu shakes off the sensation, going in for another no leathal blow to the forearms.

Trobilu's hit rolls: 1, 12. First hit fails and gives a +1 penalty to its attack next turn. Base damage 14. Defense roll: 14. Damage cut in half. (Also, forgot to defend with Body last time for both. Ignoring Body defense for just this battle). Ivaylo HP: 23/42.
Ivaylo uses Burning Hands again. Hit roll result: 13. 9 damage. Defense 9 Fail (8). Trobilu HP 12/26.

Trobilu slips on one attack, leaving himself open for his opponent's burning hands. Trobilu stays in the fight, going for a better target, the man's torso, making each slice shallow.

Trobilu's hit rolls: 9, 4: fail, fail (first fails because of the +1 penalty, which raised the target roll to 10). Both hits miss. Ivaylo's HP remains at 23/42
Ivaylo casts Burning Hands yet again. Hit roll: 18. Success. Base 10 damage. Defense roll: 19 Pass. Trobilu HP: 7/26.

Trobilu realizes his dilema and backs up slightly. aiming one piercing hit to the side opposite of his opponent's heart, driving all his force into it. (this would pierce a lung if successful, but would not be fatal due to the blood mages.)

(Only one's a blood mage. One's a healer ^~^ Regardless, +2d2 damage)
Chance to hit still 9, only one hit. 20. Critical. Base damage 17. Defense roll 3 fail. +50% damage for critical hit. 26 damage. (Lucky -___-) The hit "kills" Ivaylo (since he's instantly healed as soon as he falls by Feryn. After a few rounds of healing, everyone is back to full health again. Feryn is the first to speak. "Are you two quite done now? We've wasted enough time. We have to go. Right now, he's really our only chance right now. At least until we reach Fenoral."
