Real Name: Zenith Sil’dari
Alias:Race: Fey
Age: at least a thousand
Gender: Female
Primary weapon: Staff of the Magi: A two metre high, silver and white staff, of intricate design. At its peak sits a bulbous orb of multi-coloured mist that continuously twirls, while right in the middle is a wick, the flame flickering from it seeming unaffected by the swirling mist.
It holds powers of its own, including:
- Planeshifting
- Telekinesis
- Invisibility/teleportation
- Anti-Magic Field
- Sanctuary: She can creates a demi-plane out of a particular area that repulses other magic and that deters people from entering, seeing or otherwise sensing the demi-plane. In this area teleportation out or into it is forbidden and impossible because it is completely separate from other planes of existence.
- Bind/Imprisonment: This could be via chains, burial, hedge prison(Demi-plane), forced slumber and minimus containment
(Shrinking a target and trapping them in an object like a gemstone).
- Spell Reflect: As a spell the staff causes the target’s next spell to be reflected back.
- Absorb Spell: Spells consumed by this staff increase its magic output.
- Banish: The ability to send the target to the Ethereal plane where they do no physical damage. The only magic that works in this plane is Pisonic magic as they are considered souls/wraiths.
Secondary weapon: Azerthian: A freakish tome made in torn flesh with a single, slitted, eye that rotates, the pupil constricting and dilating when focusing. On the cover in an ancient godly language reads: ‘Book of the Ancients’
The tome is only readable to Zenith and if anyone were to try to turn the page, they would find their hands gripped in its toothy mouth. The book will proceed to try and eat the individual if they don’t please it. The book is also sentient and considered Zenith's Familiar. If the book is destroyed by something, or by being more then 300 feet from her, Zenith can create it again with a small ritual.
It contains powerful rituals pertaining to the Dreamscape:- Illusions that kill
- Astral Projection
- Teleport to Dreamscape(Mass).
- Summon Chaos Monster
- Dream Teleport: Allows the caster to teleport into the target’s dreamscape and transform it how she likes. The
target cannot wake from this tampering until the caster has been defeated, or has left on her accord.
- Cure Madness
- Replicate: The book adds spells that it has witnessed with its own one eye, allowing Zenith to replicate it by
following its instructions. It must be able to see the ability being cast and Zenith can only cast it after she
has had time to study the instructions.
- Re-write Reality: Everything in a 300 foot radius can be manipulate, re-arranged and transform like she is in her
dreamscape. This only affects un-animated objects and non-sentient creatures. She has to write it in her book
like a narrative. Likes this she could re-write reality.
Abilities
Season Control: The ability to completely alter the seasons, including creating massive storms, affecting the flora fauna as expecting depending on the season and causing massive climate change. She could potentially destroy a planet this way, especially when it is controlled by her emotions.
Chaos: Power derived from Azathoth, the Demon Sultan of Chaos is unpredictable. Whenever Zenith tries to cast a spell she can be subjected to a random affect from my own Wild Surge Table.
Destruction: Many powers Zenith knows and can cast cause mass destruction.
Madness: While she is immune to madness it doesn’t mean others are immune to her madness. She can cause targets to become consumed by madness so that their powers are also unpredictable, or they become afflicted with psychotic mental issues.
Void: Anti-magic, Magic drain, Matter destruction, dematerialisation, Erase Existence, Void Prison
Nightmare: Her sleeping patron has bestowed the ability to manipulate dreamscapes. Dreamscapes that she has passed through become infected by chaos and madness often resulting to nightmares.
Immune to Madness: One of the perks of being a faithful follower of a chaos god is being immune to spells that cause madness as long as she is wearing that white robe of hers. It has some kind of godly protection.
Immune to Aging: If the spell were to age her forward it simply would not work, but rewind her age… Not so immune.
Soul Consume: Upon death of the target, even if isn’t planned to be permanent, their soul is immediately drawn into the Dreamscape to feed the dream. There the soul will take on their usual form and have to fight their way out of their own dream cell as chaos monsters try to consume them.
If they manage to escape they are reincarnated, if not? Their power is sucked out of them to feed the dream until there is nothing left and they cease to exist…
Physical Description: She is a thing of beauty and chaos, skin kissed by the sun to have a red hue to a golden brown, hair scarlet and untamed pools on the floor around her willowy form. In her eyes one could swear flames danced in the pupiless depths, while pointed ears peak from between locks of hair.
The taste of chaos and magic surrounds her like a perfume, unstable and excitable.
Although her appearance tied with the fire, the element seemed strangely irrelevant and wrong when one looked more closely. Chaos was not bound by an element and thus the sense one got from her was that one would be foolish to assume anything of her.
In fact she is more attuned to the seasons then an element, her appearance making a drastic change depending on her emotions which are tied to a certain seasonal change. With this change is the power she has access to.
Mental Description:
Zenith's moods wildly swing between the seasons and she is nearly entirely controlled by her emotions, especially since her powers have awakened. The wild, or 'weave' as some call it, is an everyday concern, although by now Zenith had accepted that it was part of her and nothing she aught to be ashamed of. Telling her allies and friends to keep their distance when she is casting will just have to be enough! If not? Well she did warn them.
She is bold, reckless and spontaneous and rarely sticks to one activity for long. It is easy to distract this fey being who's main goal in life is to learn new things and have fun doing it. Often she will do something without thinking of the consequences, or of thinking about it at all and if she thinks someone is in trouble then she can become fiercely protective.
Over the many years she has changed, becoming daunted by her impending immortality and being constantly at the whims of gods and powerful entities. She has been used, tricked and manipulated into the endless fight against the Finalities and power struggle of the gods. It has left her with a worrying acceptance of death by her own hand, as long as it is in the name of the gods and for the continuance of existence. She had seriously believed that everything she has done up to this point has been for the good of existence, although the most recent events have left a growing doubt about whether she was simply fueling another Finality.
Music and art are her passion, much like lore and history are an archaeologist’s passion. A weakness for beauty and a tendency toward flirting and playfulness are flaws, because she has difficulty resisting the beautiful person's charm. She has since curbed that desire, no longer looking to find a Life Lover, for her existence is too erratic and dangerous. Anyone that became her partner would worry that they would become targets of powerful deities and individuals who she has meddled with. Not only that but her quests often have her vanishing to completely different realms and dimensions for years, often without warning.
Life Events:
In Zenith’s early 100s she was an aspiring songstress and dancer, having in-fact been training to impress the members of the Fey Court with her talents and secure a contract that would allow her to perform regularly at balls and functions hosted by the court. In the meantime she attended college and then University where the Arcane and Academics combined seamlessly. It allowed for a rather comprehensive education for a High Elf, however while she put many long hours and focus into her academics and succeeded, Zenith’s arcane studies were all over the place.
Why? Because unlike the majority of the High Elf population who drew magic from the Weave at will by the use of arcane words and strenuous training, the red haired woman was born with a direct connection to it, the problem being that she couldn’t turn it off. It was bad enough that just her over-active mind could cause a magical effect to materialize and instead of an arcane word forcing upon the magic the desired effect, the effect could be easily the utter opposite or something entirely different.
Arcane studies required discipline and structure, so of course the anomaly was a frustration to her professors who had to worry that a simple levitation spell could become a lightning storm in the lab. Utter chaos!
No matter! Zenith passed tentatively with a bit of persuasion from her rich parents, both whom possessed varying degrees of disappointment and dismay for this problem. The family had deep roots in magic and the success in such, with her father being the equivalent to a Battle Magician and her mother a Lore Master. If Zenith couldn’t control her magic the Magistrate (A council of Magicians who regulate the use of the arcane) wouldn’t accept her into their ranks, in fact she could easily catch their Ire and be magically neutered.
Zenith remembers quiet a few magical catastrophes:
- Re-occurrence of the bedroom on fire incident
- Mid-Summer ice
- A greasy Entrance
- Raining Exams Day
- Transparent Clothing Incident
- Professor Lil grew extra arms (Was not pleased)
The list continues...
The Conundrum
In the High Elf Society arranged marriage is often encouraged due to low fertility rate and because magic aptitude is heavily believed to be inherited. For individuals to go against the grain by choosing a Life partner of lowborn status, is the equivalent to the stigma of Homosexuality. It is the same for interbreeding with other species of humanoids, mostly because Elves tend to be traumatized by the experience of watching shorter lived partners aging and dying, along with their children, while they remained ageless.
Zenith found this rule suffocating, as she found most rules and of course attempted to go against the grain, or more to the point her whimsical, reckless and curious personality lead her to it. Un-interested in the prospect of marriage and settling down, the sorceress went through a stage of repeated heart stomping and player-player relationships. It was later explained to her that trying to keep pace with the whirlwind of chaos was simply too stressful and exhausting for most potential suitors. After-all the elvish race are slow to progress, slow to make decisions and have a serious case of procrastination. A decade to a human is but a minute to the the elves for example.
It was also frustrating to Zenith who found the slow moving attitudes of her kin tedious and unfulfilling. She found herself more so enjoying the company of the various other fey species who found the High Elves stuffy and arrogant with their superiority complex. The other smaller races tended to be more mischievous and playful, fully exploring the concept of fun in a way that would leave even a human utterly breathless and overwhelmed, if not dead.
This did not escape the notice of her parents or the Magistrate, but other then a case of clear disapproval and disdain often being projected her way, they were still deciding on a punishment. Could they pin her ‘wings’ per-say, to a board with marriage? Her sister Elisia was off legally courting and being courted, while Zenith was being frivolous with fairies, dryads and god knows what else.
Forbidden Love
A Magisitrix of high rank, Elisia's time had been spent pouring over tomes and researching magic. She was the shining star of the family and was eventually offered the chance to become a member of the Magistrate. Like a good elf she had pursued nothing but her studies, more interested in becoming a power Magician, then worrying about Love. Of course this was also considered a anomaly, but one their parents could handle.
Their eldest daughter was quiet amicable to the match making process, although she didn’t find the process intriguing. Narcissistic could sum her up rather precisely, but one who was both Lawful and obedient to a fault. So far her personality, devoured of emotion and sensitivity had strained most chances to find a partner, until Balesh, a vice Commander in Magic Warfare came to accept Elisia courting attempt and even managed to spark some emotion in the Narcissist, possessiveness? Analytical interest? Balesh certainly had strong magical roots.
They returned hand in hand to Zenith’s home city Skymeet, engaged and seeming in-love. In an attempt to win over the family Balesh tried to befriend Zenith, the only family member he had yet to be introduced to. This was customary, but what he wasn’t prepared for was the ease at which he managed it and came to be both intrigued and reeled in by her personality. It wasn’t as if she had problems with attracting suitors, it was that they soon became left behind, so the same was expected of Balesh.
She hadn’t wanted to be rude, but when she saw him almost falling asleep at a formal ball to celebrate the union, Zenith had offered to be his dance partner since Elisia was busy talking business with her peers. To say he had found the experience with the excellent dancer fun was an understatement, they had danced much of the night and bantered like old friends. Perhaps she was an old friend from another life? Or perhaps she was simply too charismatic and extroverted that it was easy for her to befriend others.
Whatever the case Balesh asked Zenith to be his guide and show him around Skymeet. That had been a lovely mistake, the red haired woman not noticing how his attention shift from her sister to herself until it was too late.
One evening after some wine, dancing and a walk, Balesh could hold it in no more and kissed Zenith full on the mouth and when she resisted he asked her whether she found him attractive or not. She did, and hesitantly admitted to it, but pointed out the pending engagement with her sister. It would not just be Elisia who would be devastated and hurt over this but her parents and the majority of the Magistrate.
In the time they had spent together Balesh knew one of her true weak spots and that was that she never lied. It took a little time but eventually he twisted her words around until she was left admitting the forbidden attraction she had for him. He asked her lastly if she wanted him to kiss her and when he received silence, took that as a yes and proceeded to. Temptation had finally won out.
Balesh began secretly courting Zenith from that night on and one of his tokens of admiration was the pendant she wears even today. This was all rather like a fairy tale to the young elf but she constantly felt guilty about what she was doing. On at least a dozen or so occasions Zenith would spontaneously decide that it had gotten too far and try to keep Balesh at arm’s length but while her emotions were wildfire, they were quick to be smothered.
It was Zenith who made Balesh wait to ever tell everyone of their relationship, even after he had soon after kissing Zenith, told Elisia that it would not work out. Elisia had been stunned and confused, not being perceptive enough to notice the goings on of her sister and him. If she found out Zenith was sure that Elisia would feel betrayed deeply. However the vice commander had grown frustrated by Zenith's fluctuating behavior, convinced that the only way to fix it was to come out with it already.
She was totally against it of course but thought Balesh would understand, except she was wrong...
The last song of her performance came to an end, the Eladrin songstress bowing in a flourish before members of the Fairie court, when striding from the throng came Balesh with a determined air to his demeanour. Zenith's eyes widened, the colour draining from her face as the Ghlae warrior procured an engagement ring and professed his love to her in front of not just the audience, but Elisia and her family.
Never had she been put in such a position before of this magnitude, the fey-elf noticing how her sister's features changed into betrayed realization. Similarly shocked expressions were on a few others, while disappointed and disapproval mar others. Their endeavors hadn't been entirely gone un-noticed but none had bothered to let Elisia know, probably expecting Zenith to do so herself or stop the madness.
Without a word Zenith's features twisted with regret and indecision, how could she go ahead with this with the turmoil brewing because of it? Not only that but was she absolutely sure she wanted to settle down with Balesh?
“You inconsiderate, blaspheming Harlot, the Magistrate are done with your meddling. “ Someone furiously protested, and the audience became an uproar. Not all were against the drama involving Zenith and Balesh, but enraging the most powerful people in your society has consequences.
It was her own sister who cast the spell which banished her to the Astral Plane where she spent an immeasurable time defending herself against astral beasts by the skin of her teeth, or fleeing from them for the Astral sea prevented the regaining of vitality. In a particular fight she was sure to be slain when she caught a glimpse of a human projecting through the astral plane nearby and followed, narrowly escaping the clutches of an astral welp. It led to a portal, one that she catapulted through to find herself in another dimension entirely.
As luck would have it the sorceress came across an Inn, finding that she could bask for money and free lodging as long as she was there. This helped her settle in for a few days before it was suggested she seek out a half elf sorcerer like her.
It made for an odd partnership, especially when Alisandra and Rofus joined the foray through Sigil. On the run from a much more powerful Devil, that Zenith managed to insult and enrage, they all escaped to a realm over taken by kobolds, met a golden dragon and convinced a whole city of the dragon kin to move so that the golden dragon could move her mountain someplace else. She had explained to Zenith that she had already nicely told the kobolds centuries ago to not build on her mountain, but it appeared they had refused or forgotten...
The FinalityIt was amidst that where Zenith fell asleep and was saved from her own nightmare involving her deepest regret and fears. In a hallway of light and dark, the Sorceress overcome by self-pity, guilt and remorse comforted herself in the hallway of the dark.
The floor tilted and she fell, expecting death at the end of this inky blackness, but instead she was caught in the arms of a golden god who called himself Kaiwan. This is when she learned of the Finality and agreed to free the souls in the Nine Hells to feed the Dream. A place where mortals go when they dream, and where a Demon God sleeps indefinitely, intent on devouring the multi-universe if ever awakened. Many minor deities watch over this god, using their magic to prevent the awakening.
To survive the encounter she asked for more power and was sent to the Prime Plane of Chaos to fight her way through the body of the Blind Idiot God. At the center of the god she convinced the Book of Azathoth of her worth and wrote her name in the tome with her blood.
When she awoke it was with the robe or brilliant white, the staff and a book that uncannily resembled the book of Azathoth.
Soon after convincing the Book, she visited the immaterial realm, made up with her sister and turned down Balesh proposal. She also attempted to convince the Magistrate of the danger, and was predictably frustrated once again when her people scoffed at the imminent Finality. Zenith left in a storm to gather allies for her eventual foray into the Nine Hells, visiting Earth and freeing two minor deities in the process. Aiding their revenge against their brother and uncle, she gained more power with every soul she reaped and traveled to North Carolina to collect Robert’s Dungeon’s and Dragon’s campaign notes which was more of a prophecy, created by a human who could Divine without realizing. Inside the main plot-line were hints about what was to come and what she and others would face.
She escaped Earth using Robert’s hand written instructions and traveled to the World End to visit Hagartha’s sisters after realizing that they were comrades in the fight against the Finality.
Hagartha was a Hag that she met in Landfall soon after her Astral Flight into another dimension. She had her fortune told which led to the hag letting her and her companions live and imparting some disturbingly ominous forewarning that at the time meant nothing to her, with a promise to give her a key to her homeland if she visited her sisters.
When she arrived at World End it was to find that the plot had thickened as another Finality, smaller in scale but no less devastating in the end, was being enacted on a far off Solar System. With the help of the sister’s combined powers, Zenith was transported there where
