(350 miles northeast of biodome of the Aranth, 200 miles south of Calmag|west of Palenar|north of Lematid) an dry lightning storm had formed over the Tadin Wastes, a phenomenon that had not occured in over 5 years. may of the bolts struck the ground or pieces of trash that lay here and there. out from under a small pile of scrap metal lay a pale humanoid hand. a single bolt of lightning connected to the pile of scrap metal, energizing it and the body connected to the limp hand. a few moments passed before the metal began to fall to the side, revealing a pale skinned humanoid in a white jumpsuit holding a hand to his head.

(Making my own locations, too, obviously) Akara Biodome - Alice316 stood at the exit of the biodome, between the two pressure doors. She was technically just waiting for the pressure to equalize and the synthetic climate to change, but it seemed more to her like she was doing so much more; the minute she returned here with something useful to the biodome's future was the minute she became an adult; what she was doing now was a sort of cultural puberty. It meant, of course, that this was the last time she'd see this place for a long time, the last time anything would just be given to her. She had worked out a ride with some of the dustmen outside the dome a while back, and they'd be outside this door, waiting for her. Waiting to take her West, to the next settlement: Lematid.

(btw, i am building a map as we go) the pale figure shook his head lightly, standing to his full height. he held his hand up to shade his eyes against the overbearing sun. the last thing he remembered was a lab of some sort, but his memory was so clouded, and it was excruciating to try and remember. he looked around seeing nothing for as far as he could see. he shrugged before moving the pile of scrap he was under out of the way. he was facing south, unbeknownst to him, and decided to start walking figuring he would come across someone in the dried up desert like place. surely he was there for a reason.

The door opened. The dustmen weren't there, at least not where she could see. No vehicle. She hadn't expected it to be like this; she'd already smuggled medicine for them. They should have been honor-bound to help me! I helped them! The least they could do would be to help me in return! I didn't even ask them for anything I couldn't have done myself! But she really couldn't have done it herself. She'd had no need to learn to drive, what with the biodome's mass transit systems.
Then she saw it, in the distance; a cloud of dust that grew larger as time passed. When she was consumed by the cloud, she could no longer see, and even her breathing had to stop.

[south/Center of Tadin Wastes: ??] the humanoid that walked in the desert wastes without even so much as a name had been traveling a while, but he did not seem to be getting anywhere all that fast. for some reason this angered him, and he knew not why. he could see a vague spot in the distance, but he knew not what to make of it. a larger moving from a good ways west to the east, there was a closer dot, but it was a ways out of his path. however, were he looking at the it correctly they would meet soon

It was only a matter of seconds before she felt cool air rushing to her lungs, and she could no longer feel sand against her eyelids. They'd given her a mask. It appeared to have an oxygen tank connected, but like that was only there for this purpose. They turned off the air and she could still breathe through the many layers of filters. She could just barely see them pulling the strap over the back of her head, though the dust was starting to settle.
She could hear a muffled voice speaking. "You're definitely new to this. We'll take you where you wanted to go. A little hint, though, domegirl: Don't make deals with groups on your own, and don't give people things before they've given their services." The man's hand signed something to the others. They all got back in their glimmering, solar-cell covered vehicle; its original make and model would be impossible to determine with how much modification it had endured. Alice wondered how it still worked as well as it did, but didn't question it; the outside was a strange place.

(well... i lost the map... I'll start a new one...)
[south/center of Tadin Waste: ??] he continued to walk for a few miles, still not tiring. it was hot, yet he still was not fatigued... he did not understand who he was or why he did not tire, but it was a long ways to where he was heading... which brought to mind, where was he going? he just up and started walking like he had already planned a destination. a large tornadic shape was forming to his right ( east). it was a good ways off, but it was getting

late... the temperature was dropping, and he had a feeling it was going to be an extremely cold night... in the distance, about 15 miles ahead of him and slightly to the west, he saw what appeared to be a small fire. what in the world would someone be burning out here? he decided to keep walking, maybe by midday tomorrow he would meet the one who had created the fire.

By the time the sun set, they'd reached a small settlement. She'd provided enough medicine for several stops in cities, staying only as long as they both agreed necessary, compromising when they couldn't reach a decision. This settlement only had a couple families, living in burnt out ruins. These villagers had thankfully had the sense to set up a memorial for those that they found here, after disposing of the bodies. Sure, it was only a wall with scratches in it, but that was more than she'd expected based on what she had prepared for out here; there weren't supposed to be small villages with peaceful people. And this was the home of the dustmen that were driving her around; not only were they peaceful, they were helpful and indiscriminate. They were going to stay overnight, so they could say goodbye to their families. She was going to stay in one of the abandoned buildings, but one of the dustmen; a thin man with seemingly no body hair, his head hair, if any, was hidden under the leather helmet he wore that covered most of his head. Or she assumed it was a helmet. It looked like it may have been sewn or grafted to his head. He never once spoke to her, relying on hand signals.
Inside his home, she saw his family; he had three daughters, a wife, and an older sister. At least I can feel safe here. She was to stay in the same room as the sister, sharing a "bed" on the floor. They didn't get much of a chance to meet each other before they had to sleep; they'd have to leave fairly early in the morning, as soon as the sun rose.
