Rurik's arrogant tone was far from lost on Yxia, who was certainly not in any mood to deal with the boy's antics after her run in with Marcus. Her hand shot out towards him and grabbed the lower half of his face before he could even hope to react, though it was an extremely gentle grip, her fingers barely applying any pressure at all. It was enough of a demonstration of what she could do without having to crush his jaw, that just seemed wasteful unnecessary.
"You're an exceptional warrior, Rurik, but don't forget," Yxia sounded more like a mother disciplining her child than a general reprimanding a soldier. "You're just as valuable to me with or without your tongue," she continued as her fingers moved from Rurik's cheeks to his lips. Forcing his mouth open gently, the dark elf formed a sort of claw with her thumb, index and middle finger before catching the boy's tongue. Slowly digging all three nails into it hard, Yxia didn't let go until she could see Rurik's eyes begin to water. "Watch your manners if you intend to keep it," she finished sternly, letting go of the boy's tongue at last before wiping her fingers off on his cheek.
"And don't worry, I'll have plenty of targets for you to wet your blades on. Stay with me for now, I'll give you more specific orders once we see the layout of the enemy forces." hearing that the emperor had given the order to march, Yxia hurried to the front lines, flanked by Rurik as they traveled the short distance from the camp. Taking position in front of the portion of the army under her direct control which included most of the fearsome beasts and creatures that fought under Aienster's banner. Meanwhile, Marcus stood at the head of the much larger portion of the army which was composed almost exclusively of humans.
"Release the werewolves into the forests on the western flank of the battlefield. Have them wait until the battle has begun and then unleash them upon Balan's archers from the side," Yxia gave the order to her beastmasters who delegated a few of their own number to oversee that the task was carried out. "Everyone else charge on the emperor's signal."

Silent as a shadow, Lina had once again thanked her master for teaching her all that she knew. So far she'd made it to the edge of camp without being spotted. Not positive who's camp it was, however, she'd been forced to sit and watch for a good three hours or so before finally figuring it out. She was quite proud to say she'd gotten it right the first time. She knew she had to find ether Brave or Nikon. Her master had drilled her many times on who to look for, what they looked like, and what to say when she found them. Well, to make a long story short, she'd found them alright. That had been two days ago, though.
Things had gone well enough, she supposed. She'd at least been accepted into their ranks as an assassin, her information had been put to good use, and she had a chance to possibly get revenge for her master's death. She missed him more than anything right now. Him and their son. Now, however, was not the time to morn. Now was the time to bathe.
Well, it would have been if she hadn't heard her commander calling for her. Sighing, she reversed directions as if she'd always been walking towards him at a quick, spirited pace and had not just been trudging towards her tent looking forwards to a cold bath and a chance to wash the blood off her hands, hair, and face. She'd been up at dawn and promptly out at the healer's tents, helping those who had been wounded for one reason or another. There weren't many, yet, but enough to get her rather bloody.
Ignoring that for now, she bounced over to the three men who seemed to be in conversation, suddenly feeling slightly intimidated. Would the giant even see her way down here? Craning her neck to look up at him and, her personal hero, Nikon, she offered them a little smile as she waved up at what might as well have been the sky. "Hello!" She called, giggling a little. She thought it was kinda funny, how she always had to look up at everyone.
Speaking of looking up, she beamed up at brave as she asked, "Did you need something?" Looking excited, she bounced from foot to foot asking, "Have you decided to let me do as I offered?" She asked brightly. When she'd first come here, she'd suggested she go to Marcus and pretend to be some woman who worshiped the ground he walked upon and offer herself as a toy for his bed, then stab him when he wasn't expecting it. She didn't realize there might be a slight flaw with that plan. Such as the fact random woman didn't wonder into camp every day and just make their way to the emperor by chance. She was trained for when he was at home and she could be introduced as her master's daughter, then pretend to be seduced by his power and carry out her plan. She hadn't yet realized it wouldn't work as well on the field.

Leon Brave
Leon saw the two and smiled lightly. "No. I've told you already. That plan would not work." He sighed lightly, pointing down at the map. "We're planning for two things right now. First of all, we want to kill Marcus. Garis is sending one of their stronger soldiers against him in a surprise attack. Lina, I want you to sneak around from the east side of the field to sneak into the camp during the fight. You will hide in the forest until the fight begins. Once it does...well, if you see Kunwir having trouble, don't help. You're more valuable than Garis' soldiers...as painful as that might be to say." He shrugged, keeping his finger over the camp of Aienster. "If he succeeds, however...I want you to take your revenge. Finish it for Kunwir and do what you want with the body. Make an example to the troops around him." His eyes were hard, knowing what Marcus had done. He wanted him dead and buried. And he wanted his image foiled with the vengence Lina had.
"Mardek. As for you. You will take a group of soldiers into the forest to our west. You will take a small contingent of trained warriors around that way. Kill what's in your path and make a line to come out behind Aienster's lines. You will meet up with another small force led by Cecilia Light from Garis. The two of you will command the surprise attak from there."
Cecilia Light
Cecilia sighed lightly as she watched the warriors form together. "Aeron." She looked to the boy, arms crossed. "You will lead the troops in my stead. I am leading a contingent in a surprise attack. So keep things under control until I return to lead the troops. Understood?" she asked him.
Marcus Benign
Marcus smiled calmly at his troops for a moment before his gaze turned to an absent spot in the troops. Directly at Kunwir. Waving his blade, a burst of magic esaped, shattering the illusion he created. "Hold your positions. It seems we have a guest..." he said with a small smile. "Let me show you what will happen to these fools when we enter the field of battle." He pointed his blade at Kunwir. "To me. Now. I shall test your blade to mine and judge if you are worthy."

Kunwir looked at Marcus, slightly surprised. his armor and weapons lit with black flames as darkness formed around them. Kunwir took his stance, his left foot forward, pulling the right foot back about 3 feet, holding it at a right angle to his other foot. he bent his knees slightly as the darkness exploded outward as a beacon, as well as a warning to the troops not to interfere. another sphere of dark magic surrounded them. Kunwir's eyes glowed red out of the full armor, bloodlust setting in.

Seeing Avaarick's usual lighthearted nature return, Nikon grinned, baring his fangs, though there was no malicious intent. "And an it honor it would be to fight by yours, Avaarick!" He proclaimed with a hearty laugh in return. Though he was usually calm and held back, He had known Avaarick for some time, and the giant tended to bring out the jovial side in him.
"My friend, I believe we would be able to serve most effectively if we were to cut a path to the heart of their forces for General Brave. Indeed, it seems the plan is to force our way directly to their leader, their so-called emperor, to sever the head of the vile beast that is Aienster." He explained to Avaarick. As soon as he finished, Lina ran up to them with an excited greeting. Still smiling, Nikon looked to Lina and said "Hello little one. You seem to be in a good mood today," And, after thinking a second, he added, "As usual." He didn't know if calling her 'little one' annoyed her or not, but she hadn't pointed it out to him yet if it did.
They kept pace behind Brave, to keep an eye on the brief. The forest looked foreboding, though it seemed that it would guarded enough to prevent a half-decent counter attack, at least.
A slight sigh seemed to escape Nikon's maw. He had seen much bloodshed, and this battle would be no different. He had motivation for this battle however. He would not allow Aienster to overtake his people's roaming lands. Though he no longer lived with the tribe, he was fiercely protective of them, and would not live to see them suffer. The kingdom of Balan at least gave them free roam in these parts.
The spear pulsed, as if to sooth him. The runes engraved along its shaft seemed to emanate a peaceful blue aura. Nikon looked apologetically to the spear, as if to say 'I know, I'm getting too worked up again.' The spear would not hold back his emotions in battle, however. It would bring upon him the blood lust that ensured his survival for all these years and all the battles he had been through.

Seeing Urius, Brave, and this little girl he had never seen before begin to walk away he figured he should probably follow. He thought about what Nikon had said and another great toothy smile crept upon his face with little opposition. Though his people were a jovial and fun loving people, fighting was a part of their culture. In past centuries they had often been attacked by people living at the base of the mountain in order to take control of their osmium mines.
Fighting them off had been easy, and you would be surpised the message a single person sent back one part at a time ending with the head can send. So from brith Avaarick had grown up in battle and he loved the thrill of it. He was not a sociopath by any means, but he was indifferent to the killing of those he didn't know or those who stood against him.
Life had a particularly dwindling importance to him. Because the Baran lived forever unless they were slain, and then if they do fall in combat they are reborn as the exact same person with all their memories a mere 100 winters later, dying posed no threat to him. Avaarick himself had never fallen in combat, but he figured the experience would be most interesting, though he had no intention of doing so anytime soon.
Placing his hammer on his back so that it fit securly into the two metal rungs that stuck out of his armor he began to follow his new comrades. His massive step size allowed him to catch up quickly despite their head start. He had heard Nikon call the girl "little one", and she certainly fit the name. She came up just past his waist. He had heard her talk things that were unbecoming of one so cute by human standards. They walked for a while as Brave briefed various squads as well as individual soldiers. Growing anxious he tapped Urius on the shoulder. "When do you think we will get to fight?"

=Rurik Aian=
Rurik glared at Yxia, wiping his cheek clean with his hand. He did not appreciating having his tongue grabbed. He wasn't sure what had gotten her panties in a bunch, but usually he could get away with one or two comments before she'd get angry.
"Must have been something our glorious leader said..." He muttered to himself. Anyone else would probably be dead long before she'd get that angry. Well... that and she'd come from the direction of Marcus's tent.
He then followed her to the front line. As they traveled, his dejected scowl slowly turned into a bloodthirsty smirk. He could practically see the bodies scattered on the ground already. It wouldn't be long before he made that vision a reality.
A link of the chain wrapped around his arm broke off from the rest of the chain, turning into liquid metal. He absentmindedly had the little metal glob dance around in the palm of his hand as he waited for the battle to begin. He never got bored with war because, unlike sparring with the troops, he could actually kill enemy soldiers without being disciplined.
He just hoped Yxia would give him the specifics soon. He didn't really care as long as he could fight, but he was still curious.
=Aeron= (Err, Aeron isn't a boy, he's 26 and he's nearly 7 feet tall...)
Hm, interesting, Cecilia was giving him command of their forces? Sure, he was willing to give a few encouraging words before battle, but to lead? Well, he did come from a race of strong people, but that hardly made him an amazing commander.
"Of course Lady Cecilia." He gave a slight bow. He'd do it though, if somewhat grudgingly. He was used to making plans for his own actions, not that of an army. Regardless, he headed to the front of the troops. His weapon was best during the initial charge anyway, so at least that worked out.
He might as well give his first orders now.
"Men, Lady Cecilia has ordered me to act in her stead for the time being. She has other plans that I assure you, Aeinster will not like. We will march soon, though we will give our agent a little more time to attempt to kill their bastard King. Don't want to interrupt that, now do we?" He cleared his throat, taking on a more serious tone. "Ready your hearts and your weapons now though, the calm before the storm ends here." He spoke to the troops. "I have faith in you all."
He could see that some men seemed to be rallied knowing that Aeron would be fighting with them, not knowing until now that he'd returned from his solo patrol in the countryside. Others seemed nervous just laying eyes on him. Others just plain didn't like someone besides Cecilia commanding them.
(Does that work? Because I honestly had no idea what I should do...)

Lina shrugged as she looked up over her shoulder at Nikon. "Why shouldn't I be in a good mood? My master's dreams are finally coming true. We'll finally destroy those who murdered him." she explained. Despite her bright smile and the fact she was still skipping along (which was sorta needed since it was faster than walking, easier then running, and kept her in pace with the two tall guys) her tone of voice was deadly. There was no doubt to her determination to win this war. She wasn't about to let her master's murder remain unrepayed. And she planned on paying it back with the life blood of every single person in Aienster who would have opposed to his plans.
Speaking of blood, Lina glanced at the blood that covered her hands, face, and hair before looking at Brave again. "Sir? May I wash off the blood first, please? I was helping a few men in the healer's earlier. The one had quite a spurt of blood and I'm afraid I'm a bit drenched. The healer's robes tend to cover only my dress, not me." She explained with a little shrug. "Or is there no time to clean myself?" She added, ok with ether.
Giggling a little, she slipped her hand into the slit in the front of her dress, which was cleverly hidden on the waist line, and pulled out her dagger, which had been strapped to her thigh like always. Her master had given it to her to keep, a present, when he found out she was pregnant with his only son. She might not have been wed to him, but he had promised her that he'd raise the child as his own, which it was, and that he'd officially adopt the boy so he wasn't a slave and so that he could legally make the child his heir. The knife was, currently, the most important thing she had. She'd sworn to herself that she'd skin Marcus alive with it. Or, at the very least, would do so while he's dead. It had been his fault that everyone she'd ever loved was now dead, and he deserved more than that for what he had done.
Testing the blade on her thumb, she was pleased to see it was as sharp as ever. "The sooner he is dead, the better, but I do think it would be more suspicious for a girl to be found with blood on her, if I should be caught, then it would be for her to be found without it." she added. Not that she planned on being found. She could sneak up on just about anything and anyone, she'd trained half her life for this, she wasn't going to fail because she got careless.
Looking up, again, she started to wonder if she'd get stuck like that, forever staring up at the sky. She was afraid so. And she was beginning to wonder if everyone around her was going to be around seven feet tall because she'd unknowingly wondered into giant land or something. "Hey, tall guy." She called, poking Avaarick's knee to get his attention. "Before you squish me by mistake and make me shorter than I am, shouldn't we be introduced?" She asked with a laugh. Holding her hand up towards him she added, "I'm Lina."

Leon Brave
Leon hesitated a moment as he thought of Lina's question. Then shook his head, looking out towards the Aienster camp. He couldn't make out details...but they were gathering. The battle would be soon. "No time. You won't be caught anyway. Don't attack Marcus if you can avoid it, but try to get Kunwir out safely if things don't go as planned," he said quietly, knowing that it would be hard to even do that much if the surprise attack failed. No one could take him head on. He knew that much for sure. "Avaarick, Nikon. To the front of the army. Your jobs will be simple. Clear me a path to Marcus. If all else fails, I'll face him." He knew they'd have some time at least. Marcus, although powerful, was cocky. He'd take his time. He wouldn't outright kill any opposition against him. He'd make it slow and humiliating. That would be his downfall. Hopefully anyway.
Before Leon could continue his line of though, Mardek already off on his own task, a shout came up from the front. "Their charging! Aienster's coming!" one of the soldiers cried, the men starting to rally to move to meet them.
Leon cursed lightly, but drew Azure, tapping Lina on the side with the flat end. "Get going. You can't waste any time." He then turned to the army. "March! Aienster won't make it into this kingdom!"
Marcus Benign
Marcus laughed at the flames, flipping his scimitar. Swinging his blade, a torrent of wind rushed past him. It was actually strong enough to push him back a few inches, even if he didn't fall to the ground. But the flames were doused by the powerful wind. "Well then. I think it's time we attack. Charge the enemy lines!" he shouted to his army. "Crush all that oppose us! And leave this one to me..." He grinned savagely as he rushed towards Kunwir, scimitar held ready.

the flames issued forth again as they blasted toward Marcus, Kunwir following closely as he held the Zwiehänder point forward and the mace at the ready. it had been a while since he had a satisfying battle. the armor started to glow a shade of red through the black flames. the Zwiehänder molded into the armor to keep from being thrown aside. dark magic formed behind Marcus, settling to the ground as it built.
Marcus was gonna catch hell, one way or another, Kunwir's past assured that.
