(You reminded me of the first Gamers movie that last combat post, by the way. But just to let you know (and this would be more funny if you've seen it), no backstabbing anyone with an improvised ballista.) Pietra leads Faryn, who doesn't mind being a follower, since it means she gets rear guard, into the center of the city, where the Damir Consulate building is; the last place any slaver would dare to go, what with thousands of massive Damir leading both politics and religion at once, so naturally furious. Faryn watched as a passerby with holes drilled into their head slowly walked by, clearly unaware of their surroundings, and even more clearly still in pain. She made sure no one was looking as she walked up behind them and attempted to numb the pain in their head. [(Silent Stepping 3, Hiding 4, Numbing (spell) 4 VS Community Perception 4): 3, 6, 2, against:4; Pass, Fail, Pass, Fail]. She manages to numb the poor person who was mistreated by those who thought magic was evil. Unfortunately, she draws the attention of the crowd she was trying to hide in, as the blue trails of smoky magic from her hands were fairly obvious, despite her attempt to hide it. She tries to convince them that it's in their best interest to keep it quiet [(Confidence 4, Heart 3 VS Community Heart 4, Community Fear 4): 1, 3, against:6, against:2; Pass, Pass, Pass, Fail], and for the most part, she succeeds, but the crowd still disperses to avoid any...unpleasantness. Except one. A young human...with a lot of hair. And furry wrists. One who looks...interested? Faryn thought. It was definitely worthy of notice, but at the same time...
Nelei reaches the largest square of the Faith District, just outside the massive doors of the consulate she had been seeking. She was trying to blend in a crowd, when suddenly, a damir woman is next to her. She hadn't been expecting this, of course, but what she had expected even less were the wisps of blue smoke pouring out of her hands. She couldn't help but watch curiously.

(Sorry, I have no idea how I missed that >< Nothing interesting, except for a note on the mage, but you can't read what it says. Nothing else that would be of interest, based on "class" and traits/assets.)

(ok) [east city, foreign district: Meptoa, Trobilu] Trobilu found a note on the mage and stuffed it in a secure pocket, nodding to Meptoa, who thundered toward the Faith district. Meptoa towers over everyone as he marches in, daring them to try something. he noticed that Trobilu was hidding in his shadow to keep watch on everyone. Meptoa also noticed the dispersal at the town square, and decided to check it out.

Faryn and Nelei watch each other cautiously as they stand in the square. Pietra runs over and scolds her, but Faryn ignores it. Faryn finally moves closer to Nelei, making Nelei take a step back. She opens her mouth to speak, but can't decide the appropriate words. Seconds later, she speaks. "You're not afraid of magic, but I move a closer and you cower? What are you, pathetic creature?" By the tone of her voice, she hadn't meant it as an insult, but as a simple observation of Nelei's size and bravery.
Nelei moves closer, what with an attack on her pride. "I am a Nyane. Or...partly, anyway. Something else, as well." She prepares to use Blood Control, then run to make Faryn her slave from a distance, but she doesn't want to have to do it. "You are...very large. My self-preservation instincts kicked in. And I've seen magic used in dangerous ways; that wasn't something to be feared."
Faryn threw her head back and laughed. "I am indeed very large, especially to a child like yourself!" Again, she hadn't meant it as an insult, but it came across as one. "I mean your appearance, not your age, of course. You could well be twice my age or more."
Pietra ignored the conversation and instead scoped the area for possible threats, especially those in charge of keeping mages off the streets. The only thing she saw that could be even a little threatening was the massive suit of moving armor in the distance. The armor clearly did not belong to one of the enforcers, so she passed it off as a foreign visitor.

(hiding is one of Trobilu's traits btw, rank of 3. also, the rolling may be excessive with the HP based system, but it works well for never being tested. however, to make it fully functional and work better would take 2x the rolling and become much more complex.)
Meptoa was much closer now, entering the clearing with Trobilu in tow in the shadows.
(also, due to his race, healing Trobilu is tricky. conventional healing spells would actually damage him, it would most likely take a necro to heal him.)

(I took it into account. Hence why she only saw Meptoa. I also took their distance into account. It's not like I'm showing EVERY roll.
And it depends on your definitions of "work better" and "fully functional". As of now, there aren't too many more functions that would benefit the system. Really just have to define damage, but at the moment, that's not really a concern. It seems to work just fine for now: Yes, there's high base damage in comparison to HP, but it DOES get cut down if you plan properly (or exploit))
(Also, blood magic would probably heal him, since it's similar to necromancy. Notice: No character has an actual healing spell. Only a blood one and other weak status-altering ones).
Pietra watched as the giant armor moved closer. She even tried to get Faryn's attention away from the little "child" to get her to watch. The armor itself wasn't THAT much taller than them, only by about a foot. However, going by the shape, it was clearly not a damir. "We're being followed. We wouldn't want to offend it, but it looks unarmed."
PASSIVE CHECKS: Perception vs Hiding: Pietra 2: 6 vs 1 Feryn 2: 1 vs 6 Nelei 3: 5 vs 1
Pietra and Nelei watch the hulking creature approach, both ready to defend themselves if they had to. Feryn, however, noticed movement in the shadow of the armor. She made sure to silently draw Pietra's attention to it. Pietra continued to watch the massive armor, but made sure to occasionally look at the shadow. Nelei tries to hide behind the others but fails, with the two damir having too wide of stances and her being small enough to show where she was trying to hide.

Meptoa stopped 3 feet from the small group. Trobilu stepping out to the side, being a little more than half of Meptoa's height. he looked to Meptoa, who conveyed a message to him, which he then passed on to the small group. his voice seemed deep for his size, and was somewhat unfamiliar with the language. "We mean you no harm as of the moment. he was trying to find out why people are avoiding you. We are from far away, and my friend here has no mouth and no voice with which to speak. also... where the hell are we?"

Nelei continued to watch from behind the others, trying not to intrude on the conversation. Meanwhile, Feryn did the same, only...not as obviously. She was no longer afraid, though her fear didn't go away because there was trust; she fully expected the same thing Pietra did: These two were obviously hired by those who hunt mages and will kill us all if we admit to it. Pietra was the first to speak to them. "This is the Faith District, where my people run the city's government...whether the government knows it or not. The city: Meyikuyov. And we are not here to direct you through the city."

Meptoa touched Trobilu on the shoulder, seeing the distrust. Trobilu nodded as a ethereal body of frost blue smoke emerged through the smoke, a cord of the smoke keeping contact with the armor as it stood idle. Meptoa's smoky self touched Trobilu, borrowing his voice as he spoke in an ancient tounge, "Venimus ad locum querela."
