I started my other test for this in one, since it made sense with the plot. Somewhere in the outskirts of a city, I was thinking. Seems like you've covered that, so...it'll start there. I'll post it eventually. Probably in a day or two. I'm still sick, but I do want to start this soon. I've found a flaw with NPC mages if not using a level system: They're really pathetic. Now we'll see them in use ^~^ But first, should we leave the starting level at 1 or raise it to either 5 or 9?

I am leaving that up to you. usually the characters start at 1, obviously... but there are times when it is necesary to start higher. i am fine with it either way. if you were to go 5-9, i would have to request to leave my shadow assassin at level 2-4.

The two Damir do, too. I don't know if anyone will know Nelei. Do you want her to know yours? She's a blood mage, after all, so it seems fitting, but not necessary. She could be on her own. I think it would make it more interesting to have them meet later in the story, maybe 7 (total) posts in or later, which works because our characters are in pairs. I also need to come up with a hook for why they'd all be together in the first place.

that makes sense for them to meet later. what of reputation? i have two very distinct characters, one that is neigh indestructable, and one that is a peerless assassin, which will gain the use of the dark arts further along. it would make sense if Trobilu was wanted with a reward dead or alive, and Meptoa is never far behind. their reputations would be known fairly widespread, but they are also fairly carefree, being able to kill anyone from nearly anything. the reason for the reputation would probably be

a couple of high class targets, killed with strange things like a wood splinter or a card for instance.

They may meet earlier on, or at least be in the same place, but the rep isn't likely to give them a reason to stay together. I suspect Pietra will be infuriated by yours if they say anything to her. Feryn will likely stop her from trying to cut out their tongues (not that she could).

ah. and i wasnt in reference to that keeping them together. i was just wondering if they would know each other via rep. as for keeping them together, when they are in the Tavern, have an anonymous tip go to the authorities, who would most likely barge in(maybe with slaves even, that would give a reason for that char of yours to join the fight). and then they will all be wanted for the same thing. stranger things have happened. that is just one scenario that is viable...

I'm still not sure how damage will work in this, since the original system doesn't use HP (It uses the pass-fail method of Body and related traits, then storytelling). Magic wasn't in it, either, and I don't know how I'll have it work, either. I suppose I explained it well enough. I'll just have healing and damage be (level-1)d6 + (rank). Should I use that for regular damage, too? For now, I suppose it's just GM's choice...so I think I will do that. An example would be a Level 3 character casting Fireball (spell) 4, which would do 2d6+4 damage.
Anyway, I think Ive decided how they'll get together, but it won't all be at the same time. Pretty sure Feryn's going to hate everyone else, though <.< Woo, character drama ^~^
I might post sometime today, then. I have stuff to do, though, so I promise nothing.

as for damage, you might want to look into a d4, because, for instance, you have a human beserker with basic to no armor(tis the way of the beserker), at level 3, his max hp can range from 3 to 18, and that spells damage ranges from 6 to 16.
just saying, you have to look at the odds. then again, if that maximum was to go to Meptoa, it would hit him for 2 going on an 80% drop from his 'immunity'. you have to weigh the descisions based on all parameters. i believe the 'rank' needs to be there, and the level
